Plant Cell

Plant cells are very unique. They have a large central vacuole that contains water and dissolved minerals. Plant cells have a cell membrane that controls what goes in and out of the cell, and they have a cell wall that shapes and supports the plant cell.

They also have chloroplasts, which is where food for plant cells is made. The chloroplasts contain chlorophyll, the pigment that makes plants have a green color. A plant cell’s golgi complex stores and releases chemicals. The plant cell nucleus, where chromosomes are found, is surrounded by a nuclear membrane that holds the nucleus together.

There is a spherical body inside the nucleus that is called the nucleolus. The liquid substance inside the cell is called the cytoplasm. The endoplasmic reticulum is the area for chemical activity. The plant cell’s protein is made in the ribosomes. The mitochondria releases energy from the plant cell’s nutrients.
